Life

The act of love can make such a difference,
To whether life carries on or not.
In just one moment the seed is sown,
And the embryo begins to grow.

After the passing of nine moons,
The time has come.
Another life brought into the world,
Bathed in virginal purity.

Through childhood he grows,
Puberty awaits him.
Challenges of mind and body,
Preparation for adulthood.

Through full time work,
And unsuccesful marriages,
His own children start to grow,
The cycle begins again.

As the years begin to show,
The cycle slowing down.
Effects of age wearying decay,
The day comes to an end.

The last signs of life,
From the body escape.
The corpse committed to the ground,
Rest in peace.
