Hi Paul,
Further to previous correspondence and conversations regarding the Krytak Trident SPR MKII – there were two things that needed doing:
- Reduce the FPS down to around 330 fps from the original 400+/-
- Restore the ability to fire in full-auto
Thank you for sending me the new spring and the new tappet plate.
I have finally got round to having time to undertake the project.
This is the Krytak when I first took it apart.
It was quite grubby on the inside and has obviously been dismantled previously as I even found two hairs inside the gearbox casing.
The first thing I noticed was that the tappet plate was exactly the same design.
I thought this was the bit you mentioned where players modify it to prevent it firing in full auto but I can’t see any difference.
There was existing wear on the old tappet plate so I will replace it anyway.
I removed the gears taking photos and making notes as I did. I cleaned every gear and every component and then very carefully reassembled.
I watched a YouTube video whilst I did it to ensure I was doing everything right. I referred to my own before and after photos and I tested every gear and every rotation as I reassembled the gun.
The piston is fine with very good compression. Every part moves freely as it should.
After this picture was taken I moved the black sleeve up and adjusted the sector gear so it was in the right position.
I then put on the other side and screw it all back together ensuring both halves fit together exactly.
I checked to make sure the piston moved within its rails. I then inserted the new spring and locked it into place.
I then attached the grip, installed the motor and charged up a fresh battery.
It fired one shot and then nothing – it’s like the gun is dead.
The battery is fine as I have tested it in another gun but the gun does nothing either in semi-auto or full-auto.
I’m stuck now and not sure what to do, so I am going to do what I should have probably done in the first place and take up your offer of you doing it for me.
To make it easier and cheaper for posting I will send you the lower receiver, grip, motor and gearbox. This includes the fire selector and magazine release.
And from the other side, showing fire selector and magazine release.
Also showing the rear pin and centre pin to hold the gearbox securely in place.
No other bits will be included as you shouldn’t need them – if it fires, it fires and that should be sufficient.
I would really appreciate your help in being able to:
- get it to fire, and
- get it to fire in full auto.
Thank you for your help.
Rob
